Family Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit after Drowning

Posted on Thursday, June 26th, 2008 at 4:06 am

The family of a 16 year old who drowned at a Georgia water park has filed a wrongful death lawsuit.

The drowning was ruled accidental by the coroner’s office and the medical examiner has said that alcohol was not in the victim’s system at the time he died. The full toxicology report has not been released.

The lawsuit alleges that the park’s management was at fault because they did not keep the water clear enough to see the bottom of the pool. The victim’s body was found in water about 12 feet deep. In addition, the lawsuit claims the lifeguards were not attentive enough to all patrons.

Kentucky Child’s Toes Mangled by Escalator

Posted on Friday, June 20th, 2008 at 7:06 am

A little girl on her way to Disney World had her plans rudely interrupted by her Crocs and an escalator in the airport.

The little girl was going up the escalator in her Crocs when the Croc became stuck in the side of the escalator. This, in turn, trapped the little girl’s foot in the escalator. She was stuck for 15 minutes before rescue workers could get her out of the escalator. Following that ordeal, she was rushed to the hospital where it was determined that she had numerous broken toes and a “dirty cut”. The dirty cut was not just an ordinary cut as it had been contaminated by elevator grease.

Because of her injuries, the little girl has to spend 3 weeks in bed.
