2 Injured in Train Crash

A train accident occurred in Elm Grove on Monday. When a woman's van got stuck on train tracks, her husband and a police officer rushed to get her and her child out.

The woman was off the tracks at the time of collision, but the child was still in the van. The father and the police officer were seriously injured trying to get the child out, but he was miraculously uninjured. The father is now in critical condition and the officer is in satisfactory condition.

Bicycle Racer Injured in Crash

On Tuesday night, a Racine man was involved in a bicycle crash at the Washington Park velodrome. The crash occurred while the man was racing in close quarters with other riders.

The man was taken to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa for treatment of serious head injuries. Paramedics said that the injuries he sustained may be life threatening.

2 Motorcycle Crash Injures 4

Two motorcycles crashed on Sunday afternoon in Wind Lake. Around 3pm, one motorcycle westbound hit the other at the intersection of West Loomis Rd and North Wind Lake Rd.

Both of the motorcycles had passengers on them, and all four people involved in the collision were taken to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. Their extent of injury is unknown.

Man Injured in Farm Accident

On Tuesday afternoon, a farm accident occurred at the Brighton farm at 275 248th Ave. A man was operating a combine with a corn harvester on the front. His 24 year old son walked with the combine, using a pitchfork to remove stalks that were stuck.

The 24 year old somehow got his leg caught in the harvester and had to be flown to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. He is currently in satisfactory condition, but has lost his leg. Police are investigating the accident.

House Fire Injures 1

Seven people are left homeless after a Sunday morning fire in a basement. The fire was reported around 11:27am. It caused $40,000 of damage to the building.

One person was hurt in the fire, sustaining smoke inhalation injuries. The cause of the fire was still under investigation by the Kenosha Fire Department as if Sunday morning.

Crash in Chase Kills 1, Injures 2

In Pleasant Prairie, a police chase ended with the suspect hitting a pole. Around 2pm, the man crashed into a utility pole along Springbrook Rd, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle.

Two women were passengers in the car and all three were taken to Kenosha Medical Center. The driver was pronounced dead and the two women were treated for non life threatening injuries.

1 Dead in Hit and Run Chase

On April 25, police attempted to pull over a Racine man who was speeding on 22nd Ave. The man tried to flee the police, going over 70mph, but crashed into another vehicle at 48th St.

The driver of the other car was killed in the crash. The Racine man fled the scene but was later found and arrested. He is now facing four charges, including intoxicated homicide.
