MN Milk Products Recalled

Several milk products manufactured by Minnesota's Plainview Milk Products Cooperative have been voluntarily recalled by the company. The US Food and Drug Administration has released a statement detailing the products affected.

Those products include Plainview's instant nonfat dried milk, whey protein, fruit stabilizers and gums. The products have not been sold directly to consumers and so far have not caused any reported injuries.

Drunk Woman Hits 4 Vehicles

Early Saturday morning, a woman was fleeing police and struck four parked cars and a tree before being arrested. Police found her in a back yard after the last crash and arrested her around 1:49am.

The woman was taken to Kenosha Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no one else was injured in the chase. However, the woman easily could have injured many more people in her condition.

Sauk City Chemical Spill

In Sauk City, northwest of Madison, a chemical spill occurred. About 140 workers had to be evacuated from the building because of it, and 36 were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor symptoms.

The spill occurred around 1pm on Wednesday when a chlorine bromine solution used as a cleaning agent somehow spilled. The cause of the spill is currently unknown.

Crash Kills Motorcycle Rider

A crash occurred on Saturday evening around 7pm. A man was riding his motorcycle southbound along 30th Ave when he veered off to the side of the road, hit a curb, an electrical pole, a fire hydrant and a guard rail.

The man was ejected during the crash. He was transported to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa where he was later pronounced dead. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Fiery Crash in Pleasant Prairie

In Pleasant Prairie, a crash occurred involving a delivery truck and and SUV on Tuesday. The SUV reportedly struck the truck from behind at the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway H.

The SUV caught fire after the crash. Information about injuries was limited. However, is was reported that one person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Woman Burned in Fire

Fire fighters were called to the scene of an early morning house fire around 1:30am on Friday. The report said that people were trapped in the house, prompting the fire department to send 31 fire fighters.

When the fire fighters arrived on the scene, all of the residents were already outside. One woman was significantly burned in the fire, but her condition was not available.

Bill to Restrict Teen Driver Cell Phone Use

Three legisaltors have come together to draft a bill that would restrict cell phone use by teen/student drivers. The bill would prohibit cell phone use by this group with the exception of emergencies.

The idea behind the bill is to cut out as many distractions as possible for inexperienced teen drivers. This would help to avoid traffic incidents caused by teenage driver distraction.

Alcohol Related Crashes Injure Several

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department responded to three seperate accidents involving alcohol on Sunday. One of the crashes involved a motorcycle around 7:45pm when the rider failed to negotiate a curve.

The other two crashes occurred at 6:13pm and 9:17pm. The first two resulted in injury and two people were hospitalized. There were no injuries reported in the third crash.

SUV Crash Injures Man

On Tuesday afternoon, a crash occurred in Dover involving an SUV. Original reports described the SUV as a bus. It crashed and had landed on its side at 2:43pm near the intersection of Plank and Sharp.

An adult and a child were in the SUV at the time of the crash. The child did not sustain any noticable injuries. The adult, however, was taken to Burlington Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Officer Saves Man from Burning Wreckage

Around 3:32am, a Pleasant Prairie Police officer pulled a man out of his burning minivan. The minivan had somehow caught fire in the driveway of the man's home.

After being pulled from the minivan, the man was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the officer arrived early enough to prevent serious burn injuries.
