The risk of drowning in the United States

Posted on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009 at 5:02 am

Drowning is a common cause of death in the United States, especially for children. It can lead to death because liquid enters the lungs and prevents oxygen.

In the United States, drowning is the fifth likely cause of accidental death according to government statistics. While it cannot be absolutely prevented, individuals can take a number of steps to decrease their chances of being involved in a drowning accident.

These steps include wearing life vests in lakes and keeping pools protected from children. If you have lost a loved one in a drowning accident, contact the Kenosha personal injury lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, at 800-242-2874.

The potential long-term effects of delay in treatment

Posted on Wednesday, December 16th, 2009 at 5:05 am

While many injuries and illnesses are not severe, they can still cause significant long-term impact if not treated promptly. Typically, receiving timely treatment is not difficult. Most doctors will correctly diagnose the problem and provide adequate treatment.

However, in some cases, doctors may delay treatment for many reasons. For instance, a doctor may misdianose an injury or illness and apply the wrong treatment. When this occurs, the untreated injury or illness could lead to significant long-term damage.

If you or anyone you know has suffered because they have not received proper treatment in a timely manner, contact the Kenosha delay in treatment lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, at 800-242-2874.

How headrests help prevent neck injuries

Posted on Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 at 4:13 am

Almost all cars on the road include headrests. Many drivers and passengers believe these devices are meant to improve comfort. However, they are not only luxury reasons but also for comfort reasons.

These headrests improve drivers and passengers' safety by reducing the impact of whiplash. For instance, when a car is hit from the rear, drivers and passengers' heads usually tend to jolt backward.

With headrests, an individual's head will not bend backwards as much, preventing serious neck and possible spine injuries. While headrests cannot always prevent injuries, they can usually reduce the impact of the injuries.

If you or anyone you know has been injured by a defective headrest, contact the Kenosha products liability lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, at 800-242-2874.
