A 38 year-old nursing home assistant has been charged with causing bodily harm and felony intentional abuse to a 93 year-old patient.
A judge has sentenced the assistant to 40 hours of community service, anger management, and counseling after her charges were lowered to misdemeanor negligence. The woman denies any wrongdoing but decided to accept her sentencing after she says she believed a jury would convict her.
The 93 year-old patient claims the woman hit her at least three times in the head, leaving a large bruise. The patient told a social worker she would get punched everytime the assistant would come in to help move her from her wheelchair to the bed.
