An 18 year-old man from Sheboygan was hit and killed in a pedestrian accident this morning.

The teen was on his way to school when a Department of Public Works leaf collection truck struck him on North Sixth Street near New York Avenue. Sheboygan police and the Wisconsin State Patrol are in the process of reconstructing the accident. It does not appear that any other vehicles or objects were in the street at the time of the accident that could have obstructed the driver’s or the teen’s view.

Paramedics that arrived on the scene say he was unresponsive. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital of head and internal injuries.
