A 47 year-old man from Minneapolis was pulled over in Clark County last week for his eighth drunk driving offense.
The man lead police officers on a high speed chase for nearly half an hour through rural Wisconsin before he was caught. Law enforcement had to use tire spikes to stop the intoxicated driver, who reached speeds up to 110 mph.
Officers attempted to pull the man over for speeding on Highway 29 when he refused to stop. He is currently in the Clark County jail and facing charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding, fleeing from police, and driving with a revoked license.

NTSB wants nationwide cellphone ban
Posted on Tuesday, December 20th, 2011 at 4:49 pm
Last week the National Transportation Safety Board announced that it was proposing a nationwide ban of cellphone use behind the wheel, including hands-free as well as handheld devices.
Most states have laws against new drivers using their cellphones and the NTSB has wanted to ban cellphone use for commercial truckers and bus drivers, but this is the most widespread ban it has recommended to date.
The board cites the fatal multi-car pileup crash in Missouri last year as an example of the hazards of a distracted driver. A 19 year-old sent or received 11 text messages 11 minutes before the accident, which killed him and a 15 year-old.
If you or someone you love has been harmed or worse due to a distracted driver using his or her phone, contact the Kenosha auto accident lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C. by calling 800-242-2874.
One dead, two injured in elevator accident
Posted on Wednesday, December 14th, 2011 at 5:48 pm
A 41 year-old woman was pronounced dead this morning after a freak elevator accident killed her in a Manhattan office tower.
Reports show that she was stepping into the elevator on the first floor around 10 am when the elevator door suddenly closed and began to travel upwards, trapping her legs. Two people inside the elevator helplessly watched on as the woman was killed.
The two people inside the elevator car were taken to the hospital for trauma.
An investigation by the New York City Department of Buildings will be conducted to find out the cause of the elevator’s malfunction. An inspection conducted in June by the department found a defect in the elevator.
Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the victim.
Arsenic found in fruit juices
Posted on Tuesday, December 6th, 2011 at 6:14 pm
An investigation by Consumer Reports reveals that dangerous levels of inorganic arsenic is in fruit juices, specifically apple and grape juices.
Inorganic arsenic is a carcinogen and known to cause several types of cancer, as well as increasing risks of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and immunodeficiencies. While there are no federal limits on inorganic arsenic in fruit juices, the researchers in this investigation used the federal drinking water standards, 10 parts per billion, as a guide.
10% of the five juice brands Consumer Reports sampled had inorganic arsenic levels at or above 10 parts per billion. Lead was also found in some of the juices, exceeding 5 parts per billion (the federal drinking water standard).
