Pickup truck crashes into motorcycle; one injured

Posted under Motorcycle Accidents

A Marshfield man was hit by a moving pickup truck close to the intersection of West Upham Street and North Chestnut Avenue on Thursday, September 12 at 4:15 p.m.

According to the Marshfield Police Department, Timothy Baumgartner, 47, was driving in front of William Nelles, 58 when the latter attempted to pass on the truck’s right side.

Nelles said he didn’t see a turn signal, despite Baumgartner claiming that it had been on. The motorcycle was traveling slow enough to a halt, but the rear right tire of the truck hit the motorcycle and caused the crash. No one received a ticket for the accident.

Nelles was taken to the Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
