SOUTH BEND, In. – An organ donor group based in Indiana is being sued by two families for medical malpractice. According to the lawsuits, they claim their loved-ones died after receing transplants from a cancer patient.One 45-year-old man died nine months after having received a kidney and liver transplant from a woman who had skin cancer. Another man who received a kidney from the same woman also died. The cancer had spread to the woman’s liver and kidneys.The Indiana organ procurement group did not properly screen the donated organs, claim the families of the victims.
