In August, car manufacturer Ford recalled more than half a million 1998-2003 Ford Windstars for corrosion on the rear axle of the vehicle. The recall was issued after a 28-year old Massachusetts man driving a Windstar died in an accident caused by a rusted rear axle.
Ford recently expanded the recall to include 37,000 more Windstars after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration warned drivers about the car. The NHTSA says that since September they have received 891 complaints about corrosion of the rear axle of Windstars.
Ford previously denied any defects or issues with the Windstar.
