Salmonella Infection Behind Recall of Jennie-O Turkey

Posted under Uncategorized

Hormel Foods, the parent company of the brand Jennie-O, has recently announced a recall of over 55,000 pounds of frozen turkey because of an outbreak of Salmonella.

The FDA enacted the recall after they were informed of a person in Wisconsin who became infected with the Salmonella bacteria after eating the turkey. The turkey was also shipped to several other states prior to the recall, however, this is the only report of illness. The recall is only of four-pound boxes of Jennie-O turkey burger lean meat.

Salmonella is a serious illness that could cause diarrhea, fatigue, and, in extreme cases, death. Customers who have bought the product have been instructed to contact Hormel Foods for a full refund.

If you or someone you love has suffered an illness because of a contaminated food product, please contact the Kenosha defective food products lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. at 800-242-2874 to discuss your case.
