Toyota recently issued a global recall of 106,000 Prius hybrid cars that have been manufactured since 1997. 52,000 vehicles have been recalled in the U.S. alone, which makes up almost half of the total recall.
Toyota issued the recall after it was found that, over time, a nut on the vehicle's steering wheel may come loose and cause the driver to lose control of the steering wheel. One accident related to the faulty steering wheel was reported in the U.S.
Toyota has recently been under fire for its many recalls over the past few months, and this latest recall has drivers wondering if Toyota is a safe manufacturer from which to buy vehicles.
