Two Wisconsin construction companies were recently cited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration after a construction accident caused the death of a worker and the injuries of two more.
The companies cited were a concrete contractor, Lewis Construction, and Cedar Falls Building Systems, a general contractor. According to reports, construction crews were working at a sand plant when a wall collapsed and killed one 36-year-old worker. Two other workers suffered serious injuries in the accident.
The citations issued were for failing to provide adequate safety equipment to hold the wall in place. Both companies have 15 days to contest the citations issued to them before they will be faced with fines.
