The pilot and passenger of a small, single-engine plane were killed on Monday when the plane crashed in Lake Winnebago near Fond du Lac.
The plane, which was registered to Tri Star Aviation Services Inc., crashed over Lake Winnebago, just 700 yards from shore. The Fond du Lac Sheriff's Department arrived on the scene of the accident and found that both the pilot and the plane's only passenger were dead.
Federal authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
