Divers found five more bodies of passengers who were on board the Costa Concordia, the cruise ship that capsized along the coast of Italy in January, bringing the death toll to 30. Officials were not immediately able to identify the age or sex of the victims.
At least two more people of the 4,200 on board are still missing, including an elderly American couple. Francesco Schettino, the ship’s captain, was arrested after the wreck and charged with manslaughter as well as abandoning his ship before all passengers and crew were evacuated.
Schettino admitted he caused the wreck by coming too close to shore. He has been released from jail and under house arrest since January.
