Man hurt in Amway Arena demolition

Posted under Kenosha personal injury attorneys

A 33 year-old man was sent to the hospital on Sunday after debris from Orlando’s Amway Arena struck him nearly two blocks away. The Amway Arena, former home of the Orlando Magic, was demolished over the weekend as operations moved to the new Amway Center.

According to police reports, the man was hit by an eight-inch reinforcing bar on his lower shin. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he had surgery earlier this week. He is expected to be released in the next few days.

A friend who was with the man says he heard a whistling sound and felt pieces of concrete hit him. The president of Dykon Explosive Demolition Corp. has personally paid for his medical expenses.
