A group of students from Kettle Moraine High School were taking pre-prom pictures on a pier in Oconomowoc last week when the deck collapsed, sending almost half of them into the lake below. The friends say they were all trying to fit on the pier when they suddenly heard a crack and fell in.
Fortunately, no one suffered serious injuries. A few sustained bruises and cuts, but all made it to the junior prom later that night. The teenagers were able to clean up with the help of fans and blow dryers.
A similar incident occurred in Fort Wayne, Indiana, over the weekend. A group of friends were taking pictures on a deck before prom when it collapsed under them.
